The key KOBIL products are based on KOBIL mIDentity Technology, a set of solutions and principles to support
execution of mobile, zero foot print applications requiring the services of a smart card.
The flagship product, KOBIL mIDentity, is a combination of a smart card reader (smart card in a SIM format),
flash memory and CD ROM partition, in the form factor of a USB memory stick. mIDentity is a platform for
launching applications provided on board (e.g. web browser or user application, Java RTE, PKCS#11, smart
card driver).
The following design and implementation principles apply to KOBIL mIDentity and to all other products based on
mIDentity Technology:
 No software installation required; all software, including the driver and PKCS#11 module on board
No administration rights required
No traces left behind upon device disconnection
Exchangeable, Common Criteria - evaluated smart cards containing IdenTrust certificates
Software hardening to ensure that no unauthorised applications access the services of the smart card
Secure, remote update mechanism for firmware and software on board, with no administration rights required
